I opened my case today and the D-string had snapped in half. It was fine when I put it away night before last. (ok, I didn't practice yesterday, I admit it) It was in tune when I put it away. This has never happened to me before. Is this normal? Is it fate telling to try those Warchal amber string y'all have been so enthusiastic about?
Nothing unusual, except perhaps the spot where it broke.
If brand new, it could be a sign of a flaw in material, or poor shipment or storage conditions. If used for more than 100/150 hours, no reason to blame the producer. Strings come and go.
